An identity design for a rural based cafe and store called “The Clowns”. The client wanted a polished logo that could still reflect the rustic feel of the store. The detail of the logo is inspired by early 20th century stamps and letterpress. The logo will mainly be used in black and white combinations.

22: Beautiful Watercolor And Gold Edge Painted Letterpress Business Card Design
These beautiful cards are an interesting combination of letterpress printing and hand painting. The original logo was designed in hand-painted typography and this has been translated to a letterpress printed design by using different tones of pink shading. The bottom half of the cards was left intentionally blank so that a strip of watercolor could be painted by hand on each card. This made each unique and personalized. Quite a few different colors and shades were tried out before a final decision was made. The cards were finished with bright gold edge foil which gives a luxurious touch to these cheery cards.

This sleek set of business cards combines the sophistication of a neutral color palette with the stark contrast of bright neon green edge painting. Only the logo and name are on the front of the card, printed in hot stamped matte silver and also using blind debossing to provide texture. The neon edge painting is the finishing touch which makes the cards fresh and prevents them from being staid or boring.
24: Sleek Black Edge Painted Letterpress Business Card Design
This sleek set of business cards utilizes minimalist design, expert letterpress printing and a special layering technique to great effect. The logo has been printed in gold ink as the main feature on the front of the card with a blind pressed background providing texture and interest without competing strongly with the logo. The cards appear to have a striped edge paint effect – this has been created via a technique called triplexing. Three layers of card stock have been laminated together – two outer black layers and an inner neon orange layer. The orange layer shows as a bright eye-catching stripe along the edges of every card.
